GoingPlaces.com, "The search for the best Amok is over..."
I found this gem restaurant by chance and almost fell in love with it immediately ... so much so that I ate there everyday throughout my 3-day stay in Siem Reap. It is a new restaurant opened last Nov when the owner, Mr Lim (same surname as me) decided to retire as a chef from a four-star restaurant to run his business.
In three days, I nearly ate almost all their signature dishes and I highly recommend its Amok Fish (U$3)! The fish is fresh and it goes very well with the steamy jasmine rice. As I didn't believe it was the best Amok in town as claimed by the owner daughter, Ms Landy, I decided to try out Amok fish of another restaurant highly rated by Tripadvisor for many years. To my disappointment, the fish is average but the price is double (U$6).
Another two traditional Khmer dishes you should not missed are Beef Lok Lak and Khmer Red Curry. They are around U$3-U$3.5 each, at very affordable price.

Pepperphoto, "A Wonderful Family"
When you go to Father's Restaurant, you get much more than food -- which is excellent-- you get the wonderful experience of meeting the entire Lim family. Father Lim, who was an executive chef, is living his dream of having a place of his own with his wife. His daughter, Langdy, is a sweet and helpful woman who is often serving the food. Another daughter, Lily, has a travel service and was incredibly helpful in making arrangements for me in the Angkor Wat area. Other family members are often there, too: Lily's husband Andre, a brother, Kimlay--all of whom are kind, generous and warm. And Mr. Lim himself helped me find a laundry when I needed clean clothes quickly and drove me there on his motor scooter! I went there several times during my stay in Siem Reap. Try the Won Ton's--homemade and delicious--but make sure you stay and meet the family.

Sgguy2008, "Great food, but dual-pricing system"
I had an awesome Khmer Beef Salad (usd $4.00) made with very fresh ingredients. The spring rolls (2.50) were to die for, and the banana shake ($1.00) was delicious.
The setting is outdoor seating and more like a hawker center than a cafe or restaurant. My only gripe is that they clearly have A dual pricing system with significantly higher prices for tourists than for locals...

TerminatorT2, "What a lovely restaurant !"
What a lovely family: lovely father, lovely mother, lovely Langdy and Lily and her hubby. Papa Lim cooks with his love, you can taste it in the yummy foods. We had such a fun time there, eating, chatting, laughing. On our last day there, Papa Lim even showed us how to cook the dishes. So if you come to Siam Reap, remember to taste the food, and meet this lovely bunch of people yourself.

I stopped almost by accident at this restaurant. Phsar Kandal / Center Market is not the place where most tourists in Siem Reap would go to to look for a restaurant; I consider myself lucky I did. The food is excellent, the restaurant is run by very friendly people and the prices quite low. I found this little restaurant on my last day in Cambodia. I wish I found this restaurant earlier; I would have certainly liked to try more of their menu.

great value for money, food excellent, price very good. The owners daughter is in charge of staff and takes great pride in her work, her name is Nice and she most certainly is. The restaurant is in a good position and they go the extra step in service. Both western and local food can be eaten with no problems at all.

Laurens, "Amazing goog food away from the crowds”
Not on the mainstreet, not on the mainmarket (Old Market), but near the Central Market, worth the short walk. The food is very good and amazingly tastfull, due to Chinese-Cambodian family that runs this nice place, just behind the Central Market, away from the crowds. Friendly service. You keep wondering why the price is so low. It'sjust a most go!

Wilhelmien Schalkx, "Very good food, local prices, friendly service"
A small, modest, but very good restaurant at the back of Central Market (the one on the most lefthandside). Father's restaurant serves excellent Khmer food. They have Western food also, but we only tried the Khmer ones. Father's wan tans and springrolls are truly the best we ever tasted! Try them out yourself! Another advantage: local prices!

Thailand Jan, "excellent family restaurant"
We went to Father's restaurant and had some local dishes the first night. This was very delicious and we decided to go back the next day. I tried a steak and my girlfriend had Khmer soup. It was great. Cheap prices , quick service, relaxed atmosphere and spacious. Highly recommendable. Two big thumbs up!

Goed restaurant .

Plony A A Bruynooge, "I loved this place near the Kandal Market"
I stayed in Siem Reap for 30 days in november/december 2010.
The most of the time I had my lunch there. I had my dinner there every day.
They have Kmerr, chinese and westernfood. The food was amezing everything is fresly prepared and cooked.
For me I like the sweet&saur pork (fish or beef) the most. But I try all the food in the 30 days.
The staff and the servise were excellent.
I would truly recommend people to try the food in FATHER's Restaurant
